We’re a little over halfway through 2019, but that doesn’t mean you should put off learning about the latest updates for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. What’s new and special in the smash ultimate 1.2.0 version?

It’s finally here! The much-awaited Smash Ultimate 1.2.0 update is now live, and it brings with it some exciting new features to the game. Also, read how to make cookies on Minecraft.

New fighters

There are two new fighters in the update. The first is Mario and Luigi, who are now available as a tag team from the start of the game. The second fighter is King K. Rool, who you can use if you complete his version of All-Star mode with any character on any difficulty level (including Very Easy). His moveset is similar to that of King Dedede’s original design and moveset from Smash Bros., but there are some differences as well: for example, his down special move has different properties than it did in Smash Bros., and he has a new Final Smash called Giga Bowser Shell Slam that replaces his old one (Giant Punch).

New stages

There are a lot of new stages in the 1.2 update. The game now includes all of the stages from Ultimate, and some from past Super Smash Bros. games. A few new stages have also been added, including one inspired by WarioWare: Smooth Moves (which is fun because all you do on this stage is tilt the Wii Remote to move around).

Mii fighter costumes

In addition to the new character, Dark Samus and Echo fighters, there are some other perks that you can access. One of those is the ability to change the costume of your Mii Fighters on any version of Super Smash Bros Ultimate. This includes:

  • All characters in the game
  • All Mii Fighter types (Brawler, Swordfighter)
  • Sizes for each type

One-on-one matches

As a long-time Smash Bros. fan, I’ve always wanted to be able to play in a one-on-one match with a friend or against the computer. Well, my dream has come true!

  • You can now play one-on-one matches with friends or against the computer.
  • You can play locally with two players at once and even online via Nintendo Switch Online’s ‘Smash’ mode feature (which is awesome).

You can change your character’s color palettes

In the 1.2.0 version, you can change your character’s color palette in the character select screen. You can also change the colors of your Mii Fighter’s outfits.

You can choose from a range of colors for each character: including their headgear, body gear, and leg gear.

Conclusion

The 1.2.0 update is an exciting one for Smash Ultimate players, with many new additions and improvements to the game. With over 100 stages, 400 music tracks and a slew of new fighters—including the Inklings from Splatoon 2—there are so many things to do in this game. However, it’s the sheer amount of content that makes it so great: you can play as any character from any franchise at any time if they’re unlocked (and if not yet unlocked then just keep playing until they are!).
